The meat for the daily beef giveaway was purchased at Food Basket. Bobbie announced that the long-awaited ranch exhibit at the Silver City Museum has been postponed indefinitely much to everyone’s disappointment. Joan Woodward, chair of the scholarship committee recommended that Tanah Lowe be awarded $500 for the 2017-18 school year and received approval. It was also decided to increase the donation to the Grant County Cattlegrowers from $500 to $750 for the cut and packing charges of the steer to be purchased at the Fair. The meat will be donated to El Grito Headstart and the Home Ec teachers at Snell and Cliff schools. It was voted to close the rented storage unit and move everything to a building on the Hunt Ranch. This will save the group almost $1000 a year and relieve fundraising issues. Kathy Davis gave a report on the brand sign on the Cliff Hwy. It can be repaired but it will be a temporary fix as the wood is rapidly deteriorating. Linda distributed the new personalized aprons in time for the Fair and a picture was taken. JoAnn Miller is working with the Grant County Fair Board on a fundraiser “Cash Party”. Copper would set up and receive the proceeds from a silent auction. After everyone was reminded that annual dues are due October 1st, the meeting adjourned.
